Do you ever need help at the center?
Volunteers are vital to the success of our center, without them we couldn’t survive. Please contact Lisa or Cathy at 717-776-4478 to discuss ways you could help.
Can I help the center financially?
The Big Spring Senior Center is a community based, not for profit business and we depend on the generosity of our sponsoring townships and local businesses and individual donations to allow us to continue to serve our local seniors. You can also help by participating in our fundraising programs throughout the year.
How is the center managed?
We are sponsored by the Big Spring Senior Center Council. This council was formed in 2011 and is made up of members from North Newton Township, Newville Borough, Lower Mifflin Township and West Pennsboro Township. It reviews all programs and services, assists in setting policies and goals, as well as ensuring we offer quality services.
We also have the Big Spring Senior Center Advisory Board that helps the center carry out the directives of the council. The Board is the liaison body between the Big Spring Senior Center and the communities served.
